Agreed.  Also the silver-plated teflon PL259s work quite well at UHF.  I 
typically see less than 1% reflected power off of them.

All my MVPs & most of my cavity filters & antennas have SO239 
connectors.  Not my favorite choice of connector (mostly due to shield 
integrity concerns), but if used with a good quality PL259 connector, 
they'll work fine.
