One thing I will tell you is that while I was replacing all the PA's on my
850's I left the final transistor spring "not soldered", it did not make
rated power.  After I soldered the spring/shield or whatever it is (they
call it a spring) it went up to 40 watts so it's telling me it's actually
acting as more than just a spring.

I have to tell you, Kenwood acted very responsibly on the matter with the
speed and cost of these upgrades.  I was impressed.

Hi all

I sent the TKR-850 out on Wednesday, the 20th and it just arrived back
from the service center a few minutes ago...with a brand new PA board
(I opened it up to check).  Haven't checked the power out yet, but
according to their service slip, diagnosed and checked everything with
40W out.  Can't belive I got it back so soon!

I rekin I got me a new 'peter!
