I think you have an old UST-100 series UHF translator. I'd say circa
1977-1981, By Television Translator Corporation before they became
Larcan-TTC. Is the cabinet 6 foot tall, and green with center mount
rack stuff? HV power supply in the bottom of the cabinet, IF
compartment in the middle and RF driver/final in the top? These came
in either a 100W model or a 20W model. Designed to cover the UHF band
back when it was 83 channels so it should do 470-900MHz Call Paul
Phillips over at Larcan and see if he can fax you schematics/manual.

About the only thing of intrest in these is the 2C39 driver and final
amplifier. Later models had a solid state driver but still used the
tube which was a 2C39 dirivitive with a heat sink better suited for
air cooling, JPZ065-W?.

If you are creative you can make a nice linear for ATV or SSB/FM in
either the 900 with no problems or the 1200 band by sawing down the
cavity some, which may not even be nessacary. I don't think it is
long enough to try to get it to the 440 band, but give it a try. No it
will not do 6 meters.

Or you could do a famous trick around here and get a modulator on CH.9
and feed it into the translator so it turns on. You could start your
own pirate station.

Watch out for that 1800V power supply, its a killer. You should
replace the RG-58 piece of coax that B+ is running down with something
newer and teflon. Make sure that the fans that blow the final/driver
are running and the wind vane is not stuck. Running one with a failed
fan is very amusing for about 3 minutes then it goes up like a flaming
margarita.

If nothing else you got some sweet rack enclosures.
