If, however, you want to learn about the mysterious duplexer, have the time, machine tools, and test equipment necessary for building and aligning them properly, then yes, absolutely they are a worthy project. I strongly suggest you figure for silver plating the inside of the cavity assemblies. There are other tidbits I can pass along as well, if you care to continue. If you are looking for a real good used commercial duplexer for 2 meters, I have, surplus to my needs, one Remec-Wacom WP-641 that I would consider selling for $650.00 not including shipping. This duplexer is in excellent condition and is late model originally built for the 2M ham band. From the factory, it was configured to have SO-239 connections for the TX and RX, and a "N" connector for the antenna. The WP-641 is outlined on this document. It provides 93 dB of isolation between the TX and RX ports at 600 kHz spacing, with 1.5 dB of insertion loss per port. Realize that most commercial companies rate their high-band duplexer at 500 kHz, and that is the case with the specs seen here: <http://www.repeater-builder.com/wacom/wp641.pdf> <http://www.repeater-builder.com/wacom/wp6xxVHFtuninginstructions.pdf> Kevin Custer Yahoo!
