How about a tape recorder with VOX on the receiver? I have done this with a scanner, like the Bearcat with the recording option to where you can tell it to record on receive so the tape does not run all the time. At quieter sites where a weak front end on the receiver will survive, you can get away with a scanner. At sites with a lot of RF, you may need a commercial receiver and a VOX Circuit to your recorder. One option....Good luck JIM
