I use an HP 8640B signal generator, just like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ViewItem&category=97198&item=7522218189&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW These are still very widely used, info and parts are easily obtainable, and these units can often be had at very good prices from eBay with wise bidding.
