Sounds like you might have an old boot loader on
the vyex board. Hook your terminal (pc and software
to the vyex board and reboot the 7k/w-dab from a
power off condition. Look at the vyex start message
on the terminal. If it says something like version
1.2, you need to update the lastest boot loader
program.

Get the latest boot loader from the vyex web page,
place the file on the mmc card and power cycle the
units. The vyex dab will detect the newer boot
loader and install it. You can then remove the new
boot loader file from the mmc card once the flash
update is done.

Nothing wrong with procomm, I have various copies
that I prefer to use. 9600 baud is pretty slow for
even a dos machine. I'd probably use 19200, which
will bring the transfer rate up to more practical
value. .... ie you won't be waiting all day for
the inital repeater file to load in.

There will be a point where the baud rate is so
fast that you need to slow down the transmit character
delay. I'm using the default high speed baud and
the mentioned character delay of 120mS. (in
hyperterm)

I had the same out of sync drop problem you mention.
Updating the boot loader fixed it although Dave
said there's nothing in the file, which addressed
the sync rate. I have about 10 of the 7k-dab boards
and could reproduce the problem on most of them.
Since I've updated the boot loader, the problem
went away.

Hope that helps
