I personally have bean using EQSO and a remote base on my GMRS system on and
off since 2.4 gig came out because the current rules don`t prohibit it the
OLD rules say the fcc wont issue no new pairs of freqs for linking so you
buy a belkin router that routs or acts as an accesspoint put a directional
antenna on it at your site point it to either another site or a location
with high speed internet access set that site up and wellaw. for those that
dont no or never tried I take my laptop with a 200MW 2.4 card with external
port hook it to a maxrad $80.00 2.4 gig 18 ish DB beam and go to a high
hill shoot accross the desert
to someones open WIFI connection aprox 40 miles away and get a reliable 1.2
megabit connection this type of opperation can link remote bases or machines
AND if you read the FCC rules on unlicensed 2.4 gig you can go 4 watts
toint to point well boys and girls this is my two cents on voip yep it works
on GMRS ive done it.
