Great.  The Trans. Type is CC3049 and Serial MA5495 from the outside
label.  I'll search inside for chassis model numbers next visit to the
club shack.  Can also send a .jpg of the guts, if that's permitted on

  The spurious part can happen but rarely.

  The manual is about 5/8" thick including all the foldouts. 

  First thing I'd want to know is are we looking at the exact manual 
 for that radio. 

  Model numbers of the receiver, transmitter, power supply and control 
 chassis will be a good start.
