Thanks for the suggestion.
I am not using the Kenwood TKR 720 repeater.
The TKB 720 is a base radio not a repeater.
I have it being used with at TKR 820 repeater and the
rear pinouts are similar but different.
Pin 3 on the TKB is wired for the BCD control signal.
I was hoping that someone with the schematic/manual for the TKB 720
could identify
the location inside the radio to inject the CTCSS tone that is like
where the
TKR repeater pin 3 connects.

I posted the information direct from a copy of the tkr repeater manual.
You appear to have the plug rewired. If you have space on the plug, add
a pin for one of the bcd signals.
If you're currently using pin 5 for audio, swap it with what your doing
on pin 3. The original pin 3 function is "wide band", the original pin
5 function is restricted. Use the wide band input.
Or bring the bcd lines out at a different location.
