Thanks to all for responding about the antenna.  The harness on mine is a 
quite stiff but I don't see any cracks in it.  I'll try putting some power 
to is and see what comes back.  Hopefully it'll work and I can replace the 
diamond that's currently in use. I read a message in the archive that the 
only difference in the ham band version was the harness. I suppose it could 
be replaced but the unknown is what's under the 'insulators' on the 
elements.

Robert, I'd be interested in seeing the paperwork if at all possible.
