If you are a regular reader of this list, you probably know two things about
Motorola Micor PAs:

1.  They are carefully designed to work properly and reliably within the
specified band split, and
2.  It is very time-consuming and expensive to convert one band split to
another.

Many of those dedicated Hams who went through the "agony" of changing some 70
to 90 components to make the conversion swore that they'd never go through
that process again.  Since 100 watt Canadian PAs are readily available on the
surplus market, already made for the 138-150.8 MHz split, it's hard to justify
spending the time, money, and effort to perform a conversion.
