You can put a lot of omni antennas on a tower side
where the pattern is adjusted by the distance mounted
from the tower. The term for a semi omni pattern
is "quasi".
I made my first split site 6 meter antennas from a
scanner dipole and a modified 5/8 wave CB antenna.
Works great if you're on a budget or have the time.
