Lee, The Motorola TDE7780A Mobile Duplexer is actually an RFS/Celwave 633-6A-2N unit. You are correct, it is designed to operate in the 450-470 MHz range, with a 5 MHz split. Since the notch tuning is fixed, it cannot be tuned to operate *properly* in the 70cm Amateur band. The Celwave catalog states that it can handle 50 watts, it has a 1.4 dB insertion loss, and 75 dB isolation. It should be okay at an isolated site, but not at a site with multiple transmitters.
The TDE7780A duplexer is not discontinued. In fact, it is the specified duplexer to fit inside GR1225, RKR1225, and similar compact UHF repeaters in the Motorola product line.
