Don't try to go too cheap on you duplexer, it is a common error that new
repeater owners make. They sometimes spend more on a controller that talks and
makes fancy beeps, but buy crappy duplexers. The size of the cavities are just
as important as the number. 6 inch diameter is the minimum, in my opinion, and
will take at least 6 cans to work well. Once you go to 8 or 10 inch diameter,
you can get away with 4 cans. Another consideration is what other rf systems
are at your site. I was able to use 4 small cans at my house, but they would
never work at a high RF level site. Look for BP/BR (bandpass/band rejec)t
duplexers, but there may be other combinations of cans that are available. I
have a set of Wacom duplexers that are a combination of BP/Br and bandpass.

Again, put your money in the duplexer. The best antenna, feedline and repeater
will work crappy with the wrong duplexers. Been there, done that, sold the
crappy duplexers and got a nice set of older Phelps-Dodge cans.

73 and gud luck, Joe, K1ike
