I got this radio used about 2 years ago, so it's long out of
warranty. Trip to Yaesu is last resort, as I don't care that much about 10
or 6 meters anymore & may be inclined to sell the radio as-is if the repair
estimate is too high.

Actually I'm already a member of the FT-8900 group - forgot since I turned
