Hi,

This may not be the exact answer. I know this is a kludge, but here's
what I am having to do. Assuming that you are using one frequency
pair on a TK 750,850 series...The repeater has 16 ch capability. Just
program all the channels to the same frequency pair but different
tones. Then by grounding the appropriate external aux I/O port select
your channel (tone). You have to set this up with the Kenwood
programming software. One caveat though, in repeat mode if you are
doing this with an external controller as soon as the repeater
receives the logic from the controller to the AUX I/O port it will
drop xmit immediately. Thus you have no feedback, until you rekey and
note the different tone being transmitted. I am engineering a 16F84A
pic based circuit board to delay this logic by 2 secs and send a
separate PTT command to the RC-210 controller I am using. This makes
the tone change appear to be normal like the old ACC RC850 controller
could do to its own Icom link xcvrs. As much trouble as it sounds, it
still beats tearing into a new perfectly good repeater to install a
tone board. There is still yet another option, and that is to use the
multitable tone option. Then the tone out is controlled by a psuedo
BCD code applied to the external AUX I/O ports. This is again enabled
by the Kenwood programming software. I haven't tried to see if this
drops the xmitr though. Alas this could easily be done with the on
board firmware if Kenwood wanted to.
