Pin 1 of U403, I followed WA6ILQ's article for the most part.

I don't know how much audio is actually available from that point, and depending on the component values chosen for de-emp in the 1P controller, an amplifier stage may be required to bring things up to where they belong.

Another option would be to change the gain of the op-amp stage in the controller.  The resistor across the first op-amp can be raised in value to compensate for the loss of audio when you use de-emp.
