Dave, That's when a good network analyzer's dynamic range really is important. With a DR in excess of 125 dB, the noise floor is not a factor even if you're tuning a six-cavity duplexer with 8" or 10" cans- and there is still the capability to increase the stimulus power. Once I got used to using my VNA, my spectrum analyzer was relegated to other tasks.
