Hi Brian,
Try the GP68 yahoogroup, there is alot of info there.
There has to be a mod performed for direct entry of
freq's. I can't remember the exact mod, it was simple
though, I think I just removed a diode. They made a
version called the ar68 for Ham radio and it already
had the mod done.
