The term NMO was created by Larsen Electronics a number of years 
 ago ... meaning New MOtorola ... 

  The mount you are referring to is the Motorola TAB/TAC/TAD/TAE/TAF 
 Series mounts - the last letter is determined by the frequency band 
 of antenna you are planning to use.
