Yes it is, same with a lot of other amplified 
lmr mics. 

The Midland LMR mic is an amplified dynamic cart, 
which is actually my perference over an electret 
in mobile operation. 

There's a diagram of the mic (with preamp) located 
in the files section of the yahoo midland group. 
It's a great diagram to reference if you are interested 
in seeing how both audio signal and power are run 
down the same wire.

Actually I should have said amplified electret and 
dynamic elements.
