I found this thread quite interesting...I didn't know the GLB existed
till now. It sounds like a fun thing to tinker with. Have to keep my
eyes open.
But I've had this concept in my brain for a while, and I wonder what
you all might think. Bear in mind its a concept.
Seems that the next logical step (albeit the need for one, except for
guys like me who have alot ot Motrac lying around, is debatable), is
to use a DDS chip controlled by a PIC to generate the necessary
signals to enable frequency agility for the MOTRAC in my case. Maybe
even the dual output DDS...to provide both xmit and rcvr injection?
The PIC could provide memories, offset, etc. Maybe even control PL
frequency and associate it with a memory channel.
Yeah, probably over thought...but might breathe new life into those
rigs, especially in a base application.
So...does anyone have a manual I can have a copy of for a GLB to get
an idea of the frequency scheme. It occurs to me that to get 5kc
increments on the output of the multiplier chain, the steps at 8 mc
for example need to be alot smaller...do I have that concept right?
Comments?
