Never saw the first post, but anyway, from what I've heard the Maratrac 
uses a Mitrek PA, so not much difference. And supposedly the rest of the 
radio is basically a Maxtrac, more or less.

My question is-why use a multi-channel, PC programable radio with 
bunches of options for a single-channel, put-in-place-and-forget-it 
application, especially if you have a single-channel p-i-p-a-f-i radio?

I would use the Mitrek and put the Maratrac in the service vehicle or 
something.

Of course, in either case, it's a mobile and not designed for repeater 
duty cycle (100% transmit, which is a requirement of *ALL* repeaters!)
A Mitrek can safely be run at about 50% power *with* a fan.

Just a thought...
