He said easy and simply. The receiver would be in ctcss 
operation. I make and install mic jack plugs for full time 
ctcss operation, which also protects against magic fingers 
and curious people near the equipment.  You only need to 
ensure the receiver decodes ctcss to remain reliable.

It's done all the time... 

So keep "someone" away from the controls. Simple enough 
to do when the equipment is under local control.

Doesn't take much to check a basic antenna system out 
before operation if you suspect a problem.

I now use a special antenna - providing its own ground 
plane so much of the 1/4 and standard base loaded coil 
problems don't happen where I use mag mounts. Many an 
antenna system demon have been put to bed with a simple 
antenna change.  It's one place in addition to the flea 
market where I'm getting all the surplus Maxrad, 
Antennex, Comtelco and Larsen antennas to play with 
as mentioned last week.

I understand your reasons, but he said simple and easy 
so we go with that thought.
