I haven't had to buy any in a while, but I did carry them
made by another company (AS). I can still get them during any
normal parts order cycle.
I'm not using the 3/4 NMO style antenna kits anymore unless
I have to. I sell an NMO, which requires a much smaller hole
just slightly larger than 1/4 inch.
For the older problematic roof rip-out issues, we made up some
rectangle stainless repair plates and use the new smaller NMO
mounts with great results.
Doesn't take a tree or bush to ruin a roof mount. A poor install
at the Sea Coast can rust a mount away in a very short time. Another
secret use for noco battery spray (in very specific locations and
amounts).

> Somebody, maybe Larsen or Antenna Specialists, used to make a
"stiffener" for use with NMO mounts. It was basically an oversized
brass fender washer with a 3/4" hole in the center. It was thick
enough that it stiffened the body near the mount, but flexible enough
that it would take the shape of the concave contour of the roof when
you tightened down the NMO. I haven't seen them advertised in a
while, not sure if they're still made.

of my previous trucks (Chevy Tahoe). It got snagged on a low-hanging
ice-laden branch on the way up to a tower site. The roof gave up
before the antenna did. I guess that says something about Diamond
mobile antennas...?
