Kevin, The standard 2135 key should work. It may be that foreign material or corrosion has caused one or more of the wafers to stick. Try squirting some lock fluid (Lock-Eze is very good stuff for this purpose) into the key slot, first with the radio right side up and then again with it inverted. Work the key in and out to distribute the fluid.
It's a lot of work to change the wafer combination of a Mitrek lock, and I doubt that anyone would go to that trouble. Nevertheless, it is possible to convert the lock combination to a 2553, another common Motorola key, which shares the same key blank and will fit into the Mitrek lock.
