I am not familiar with a tdx 800, but all members of the TMX
800 family have a same or similar VCO which is not capable of going
to 902-928 without surgery, and as there are many more suitable
candidates, it would be a labor of love at best.
We have converted some members of the TMX 800 family to 900
receivers as the VCO can go high enough to provide low side injection
on 902-928 with the 45 mhz IF in the radio. some additional hardware
mods needed as well as prog sw mods...
I have a portable 900 repeater which uses a TMX 9315 (900 Mhz GeNet)
transmitter and a modified 800 EDACS ( data mobile of some sort )
equivalent as the 902 receiver.
I have a TMX 8825 set up as a 900 amateur receiver but it was a lot
of effort and more just to see if I could do it....
I do have a mod board for converting 900 MDX's and 900 MTD's to get
them to 902-928... but does not do anything good for 800 versions...
