I use Bomar and have had really good luck with them. Order your receive
crystals for both bands for high side injection if you are moving down
in freq. You should not try to get the shipment expedited, as the
crystals need to be aged during the manufacturing process. It usually
takes about 3 weeks to get the crystals, and I have had really good luck
with replacing the existing crystals in an element with the ones
supplied by Bomar. You can send the elements to them and let them
replace them, or you can order the crystals and replace them yourself in
the crystal holder. They have a $50 minimum order, so you can order 5
$10 crystals for the minimum order amount. I do not know what they
charge for replacing the crystals if you send them your elements. They
do temperature compensate the crystal in the element and you would get a
more stable frequency if you let them do it. But I have had really good
luck just replacing the crystals in the elements myself.
Depends on your operating environment for the equipment installation.
If you are in a fairly stable temperature environment, you will probably
be OK replacing the crystals yourself, and save some loot at the same time.
