Hi Mike, 

In a one off it probably won't make a difference in an older 
legacy controller.  You didn't say what type of controller it 
was? 

I can and often do re-program eproms and eeproms for ham use so 
feel free to ask if you need help or information. 

I'm in the middle of an ACC ITC-32 eprom program for Royce right 
now.
