As mentioned, for stuck cores, I usually find an allen wrench that fits
and try it. A shot of silicone or teflon spray lubricant down in the
coil, with some heat sometimes helps. I have found, that if it is
stuck, it is "stuck" and the only other option may be to put a very
small "dab" of super glue on the allen wrench and insert it into the
core, when it dries, unscrew the core and replace it with a new core.
If you put just a bit of silicone grease on the allen wrench before you
put on the super glue, you may be able to slip the core off of the allen
wrench when you get it out - otherwise the core is shot.
