Heres a quick rule of thumb as far as cable bend radius.
The Electronic Industries Association / Telecommunications Industries Association specify that the worst-case cable radius of any cable that is compliant, is 20x the outer jacket diameter for any cable under pulling strain. This is used for selecting a pulley sheave for pulling cables around corners. A cable under no strain can be radiused at 10x its outer jacket diameter. So your ½ heliax should not be bent tighter than a 5 RADIUS. Thats a 10 diameter circle. Ive seen it bent quite a bit tighter. The danger (besides kinking) is a change of impedance. Its visible on a TDR. We use this rule at work for fiber-optic cables.
