Microphonics hasn't been a problem for the repeaters we've made
up. I would have never messed with two back to back Challengers
except someone gave me the repeater already made up and another
guy gave me a stack of radios. Then I'm guilty of buying more
of them off ebay because they were almost giving them away.
Two of my customers still have Challengers in service... so what
the heck.

The Challenger design is very conventional... using all the popular
off the shelf type parts and the bonus for me is the main processor
is right out of the 8051 family, which has a soft spot in my heart
for small board computer chips. If I ever had gobs of time to wasted
I'd play around with the processor code a bit.

The only dorky part of the Challenger so far is the programming
software can be/is a "cluster".
