we had a member of the Chicago FM CLub years ago,
an sk now unfortunately, who got the "Golden Mike
" award for timing out the repeater. The club
actually had a trophy made with an old motorola
desk mike on a plaque sprayed Gold and a name
plate engraved with his name and call sign. It
was a hoot. Fortunately we had meetings and he
was presented it at one of the meetings with 50
members or more preseent. He had no idea this was
going to happen and took it well anyhow.
