Along a similar theme we actually changed the IF Frequency to get rid of a receiver image and injection problem. Com Spec sells replacement IF Crystal Filter kits if you're up to the task.
T'was the only real fix we could muster for a 222MHz receiver that enjoyed both an image and birdie problem.
