Many times deliberate impedance changes are made in transmission lines. For example a piece of 75 ohm line can be used in a 50 ohm system with an impedance transformer on each end. At the junction of the 75 ohm cable and the transformer there is a large non constant impedance in the line. Works fine. 73 Gary K4FMX
