Well, using it as a rx will probably work just fine, although it seems a 
waste to tie up a synthesized, multi-channel radio in a repeater.
As a tx, the caveats of all mobiles, especially dash-mounts, applies-it 
won't hack continuous duty at full output!!!!! And it may or may not be 
stable/clean at reduced power.
And no, it cannot be duplexed, so you would need two of them to make one 
repeater.
