Not really... I had one of the proto D-Star Systems up a few years back and it works really well for what it is. I'm just not going to talk through it much. The internet worked pretty well through it ...
We also tried the radios in analog and digital modes. Sure the analog mode is a bit wider... but the audio is much better. I'm a casual uhf band listener so I don't want to have to work hard at listening to a conversation.
