Surplus 1/2" hardline in decent condition is often cheaper than retail 9913. W.r.t. antennas, I recently bought a DB-408 at the local swap meet for $20, so sometimes you just have to know where to look. Still, other "ham-grade" antennas will work depending on how severe the conditions are at your site. I've been using several Comet GP9s for almost 10 years now & have yet to have any problems with them. It just so happens that the Cushcraft 4-pole is a problem antenna when it comes to duplexing because of the phasing harness. I have one at the house & can only use it for TX or RX only - no duplexing possible without lots of desense. Bob NO6B
