I ran an AOR DV unit thru a plain old 2M voice repeater a few years ago. Not withstanding the faults with the AOR like sync and re-entry, the audio is GREATTTTTTT. They do lots of digital enhancements and to my poor ears the fidelity is just awesome, and their 36 carrier scheme will fit into a plain old voice channel, on ssb, though, it is not interference tolerant and can be really frustrating once sync is lost.
