Thank you for the responses to the "Tuning By Ear" thread.
Next time I'll try with the dummy load for sure.
Will get the duplexer to a spectrum analyzer soon.

As of today though, I have a more pressing problem.
I discovered that the antenna on what will be the new site (water
tower) is a custom DB antenna cut for 155.37 inter-city.
Argh.

The repeater TX will be 147.36 , 147.96 RX

SO, I know I need to change antennas. I have a DB-224 and a DB-264A
to choose from to put on the water tower at 150 ft fed with 1/2" heliax.
One point of note that may be worth mentioning... the antenna will
be side-mounted on the North railing of the water tower.

When experimenting with the 264 today, I noticed the holes in the
mast for the coax are all cut on the same side of the mast! I tried
to rotate the elements 90 degrees, but I couldn't seem to make them
go that far... especially when the hole was on the opposite side of
the mast from the element.
What is the deal?? is this a specially-designed antenna to be a
uni-directional antenna or is it supposed to be able to go omni?
Since the antenna will be on the side, should I use the 264 with the
elements all facing the water tower?

Is it worth fiddling with the 264, or should I take the 224 off my
home tower and use it on the repeater?

Thanks for the help, so much!
