I’m assuming that they are using FM Marine Band radios (and we all know what
happens when we assume, don’t we? <wink>)… They look similar to those I’ve
seen on the bridges of the various casino boats on which I’ve worked. Plus,
I hold a MROP (Marine Radio Operator Permit) and that is what’s “suggested
for use”, along with the SSB stuff for ocean-going vessels.

My guess is you won’t see a frequency, but rather a 2-digit display for the
marine channel they’re operating on at the time… The keypad allows direct
entry for the channel number.

I also did some searching, and below is what I found. Given there are 747
active licenses in the FCC database and I was trying to remember ship names
from memory, I may have not gotten all the ships correct… but this is all I
cold find.
