Paul and Chuck, THANK YOU for the information about the tape and the DB-304.
Seems the 304 would have the 9 DB gain like the 228 would, but I suppose it has to do with the phasing and all. With twice the number of elements, with close to the same amount of gain, I wonder what the real advantage is, perhaps down tilt or more focused signal At the horizon. Thanks again.
