Congratulations on taking a giant first step! However, some precautions are
in order: If this station is co-located with a Public Safety agency, you
should equip your station with the necessary bandpass cavities, isolators,
and filters to ensure that nothing in your transmitted signal will interfere
with your host's radios, and further, that none of their radios will
interfere with your station. You didn't specify what equipment you are
using, but is your repeater of commercial quality or is it just a couple of
Amateur mobile radios hooked to a duplexer?

Before I and others jump on our respective soapboxes, please advise what
equipment you intend to use- by brand name and model number- so that we can
understand what you have and how you intend to install it. For starters,
how did you choose the antenna? How far away from other antennas will it
be? Are any other stations at this location operating at VHF? Also, you
mentioned duplexers as plural- do you have more than one? More details,
please!

Subject: [Repeater-Builder] My FIRST repeater!

Well, after doing some reading on the website, I realized that there is
more involved than just putting an antenna up and plugging in a
repeater. I am installing this system at the counties Law Enforcement
Center. It will for ARES purposes with the county's Emergency
Management Agency. The first question I have is how many connectors do
need for the installation. I have chosen the Antenna system (two folded
dipoles)and the duplexers (4 cavity).

Thanks
