Hi, Nate.

I have a VHF PA sitting next to me and the sticker says:

CAUTION
Tightening Torgues For Transistor Hardware
Must Be Adhered To

6 +- in/lbs for 4-40 hdw
8 +- in/lbs for 8-32 hdw
12 +-in/lbs for 10-32 hdw

I have not seen it in the LBI's either.

Subject: [Repeater-Builder] "old style" GE MASTR II VHF PA - transistor
torque specifications
Date: Mon, 16 Jul 2007 15:20:19 -0600

Hello all,

I've been unable to find any engineering data on the older style GE
MASTR II VHF PA's (the ones with the four small vertical final
transistors, not the "modern" ones with three) that shows the proper
transistor torque specifications for the transistor studs that pass
through the heatsink, and attach to the PA heatsink with nuts from under
the heatsink fins on the "back side".

Anyone ever seen specs for these transistors anywhere? The later PA's
are labeled with various torque specifications for the screw/tab style
transistors on the newer PA's, and there's a label on this older one for
various size nuts, but nothing I can find any LBI's about the
transistors themselves.

To be honest, I haven't been able to find an LBI for the older-style VHF
PA anywhere I've looked, yet.

A friend and I refurbished one of the older-style PA's this weekend, but
we'd like to "do it right" and make sure we've torqued the PA
transistors correctly (and evenly).

Thanks in advance...

Nate WY0X
