Read my MSR-2000 to external controller mod to learn more about 
how well the dual squelch circuit you describe works when properly 
adjusted.  The Micor Squelch circuit is nice... but the MSR-2000 
can be just as nice. Trouble is most people don't want to take 
the time to really understand what is going on in the msr circuit.
