The RFN-1034-1 adapter sold by RF Parts is actually made by RF Industries and is, in fact, made of silver-plated brass with a gold-plated center pin and Teflon dielectric. Very good stuff, and I usually buy such adapters from Tessco.
If the intent is to connect coaxial cable or Heliax to a Celwave Stationmaster antenna, then perhaps the RFN-1036-1 adapter is more appropriate. The Stationmaster antennas I have installed have a female UHF connector in the base, so a male UHF/female N adapter like the RFN-1036-1 is needed to adapt to the male N on the feedline. I agree with Mike that nickel-plated connectors are very prone to creating intermodulation problems. Geez, spend a few bucks more to have silver-plated connectors throughout! For the cost of just one trip to a remote site to troubleshoot an IM interference problem, you could probably buy platinum-plated connectors. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mike Morris WA6ILQ Sent: Sunday, September 09, 2007 3:58 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [Repeater-Builder] Re: Celwave Stationmaster part identification help needed - RFS is useless At 01:30 PM 09/08/07, you wrote: Is this what you are looking for? http://www.mouser.com <http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=1327505virtualkey67800000 virtualkey678-1327505> / search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=1327505virtualkey67800000virtualkey678-1327505 <http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=1327505virtualkey67800000 virtualkey678-1327505> That adapter is nickel plated. DO NOT USE any ferrous metals in a RF environment - and nickel is ferrous. Silver is fine. Or this part number on this page?
