It smells a lot to me like a way for Yaesu to sell to the U.S. Military 
easier... and Moto to "outsource" without looking like they sent jobs 
off-shore?

They can now easily let the Yaesu "Division" specify that rigs are built 
in the cheapest sweatshops in Asia-Pac while staying arms-length from 
it, to avoid the political fall out.

Thoughts?  Think I'm off-base?

Definitely interesting/entertaining if nothing else... whether we're 
watching a good movie or a bad one remains to be seen until Act II, I guess.
