The usual need is the other way around, 50-ohm antenna to 75-ohm hardline, so you'd have to build this backwards, but here's an article from the Repeater Builder website:
http://www.repeater-builder.com/rbtip/matchingstubs.html ...but I guess I have to ask...why not just use 75-ohm cable? Are cable TV hardline roll-ends still available cheap or free? Then, you'd have good quality cable, and need only a transformer at the bottom end of the line, where your craftsmanship would not be subjected to the elements. 73, Paul, AE4KR ----- Original Message ----- From: sgreact47 To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, December 21, 2007 12:59 AM Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Matching a 75 ohm antenna I remember someone mentioning a matching section to go from 75 ohm line to 50 ohm antenna. I have a Phelps Dodge alum. coxial dipole on 2 meters and it has no matching section, the SWR is about 1.5 to 1 or about 75 ohms. I would like to build a matching section but that requires 62.5 ohm cable. Ideas???
