I am looking into rebuilding a Diamond X510 antenna this spring and I had a question about the moisture problems these antennas expierence. I know the foam spacers are a bad idea from the start but has anyone tried anything else? I once worked with an old Antenna Specialists UHF omni that had wax or something like it that filled the radome. I don't remember the model of antenna but I thought it seemed like a good idea to keep moisture out. This 510 I have has suffered from moisture damage to the point that the top section has literally broke apart in several pieces. I don't plan on using the 510 for repeater service, but once I put it up I don't want to take it down for a few years. Any tips as far as rebuilding it would be a great help.
